dipping my toe into journal collage, not as happy with this one. I do like the face--of course, but I'm trying to break out of what's safe. Too much black, too much contrast. Will try another.
Collage is not always easy yet sometimes it is. I like it when there is a center of interest and don't when there isn't. A background is fine (and that is all a page without a COI is to me) for journaling but I've seen some that want to keep that background for a picture. I love abstract art but it has to have something in it that makes me want to keep looking. You have a face and hmmm, another face peeking out. That is something to look at! Thankyou.
No, thank you. I do feel my work has a certain redundancy but I just works for me. When i paint myself, I first must say that I am kinder to myself in paint than in other place in my life. That being said, I go to what stands out the most. I do have big eyes so my eyes are always somewhat disproportionate to the rest of my face. Sometimes I work with pictures and a standing hand mirror. Do a preliminary pattern: oval, mid section for eyes, half way down for end of nose etc. But go to what you see that stands out. And last but not least, edit wrinkles--it's better than botox:)
